Whether it's coincidental or not, Ravens wide receiver Yamon Figurs has made several plays in the passing game since last week's brief fracas with cornerback Frank Walker. Some even have been on deep balls, too.
Figurs says it's a matter of opportunity, health and the need to show something in his third year with the team. The 5-foot-11, 185-pounder broke a bone in his right foot during OTA's this summer and only recently has been able to run like he normally does.
The quasi-fight? "I'm just going out there to compete for a job, that's all it is," Figurs said. "It's frustration from the heat. That's what training camp is all about, getting out there and playing hard."
Figurs' kick and punt return averages both dropped off last season after a promising rookie campaign. The Ravens brought in Chris Carr in the offseason to return kicks, but Figurs is still in the mix. His sudden rise in the passing game may have the Ravens reco...
