Found September 26, 2013 on CLNS Radio:
It was a good win. The best they’ve had this year, in fact. Certainly the most lopsided on the scoreboard. But in their victory over the 0-3 Buccaneers, the Patriots demonstrated just how far they have to go to get their passing game back to something resembling what it was a season ago. Certainly that falls on the development of the rookie receivers, and the return of Rob Gronkowski and Danny Amendola will obviously be important factors. In the meantime, the defense has limited three (admittedly terrible) offenses to just three touchdowns in as many games. But ultimately the Patriots are only going as far as Tom Brady can take them. He is their best player playing the most important position, and his ability to weather the incredible roster turnover around him will do more for the fortunes of this team than anything else. And so, after training camp, a full preseason schedule, two regular season games and 10 days off to prepare, … Brady was terrible. Okay, perhaps ‘terrible’ is a s...

Here are my top fantasy matchups of week 4 play: Chiefs D/ST The Chiefs lead the NFL in the turnover margin at plus 9, mostly from not giving a turnover in the first 3 games. The Chiefs also lead the league in sacks, and are tied for second with total points allowed. On the other […]

Tom Brady Blames Himself, Not New Receivers, for Patriots’ Struggles

The New England Patriots are 3-0, and in any other city the fans would probably skipping work and talking about Super Bowls. Just being good isn’t enough for the Patriots, and frankly they are that good of an undefeated team.  Tom Brady has taken steps to fix his disposition amid scathing criticism from pundits who ripped Brady for his body language. Brady, showing his true leadership...

Danny Amendola unlikely to play Sunday against 49ers, Gronkowski to play?

Rick Stewart/Getty Images North America The New England Patriots are unlikely to play wide receiver Danny Amendola in Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers. “I’d be really surprised if Danny Amendola came back soon,” said Mortenson on Sportscenter. “Don’t count on it.” Amendola has been reported to be moving around better this week but the Patriots are 3-0 and...

Report: Patriot & Rob Gronkowski At Odds Over His Playing Status

The New England Patriots are normally the quietest team in the NFL when it comes to their fabled injury report. Bill Belichick usually puts the whole roster on the report, and he keeps his players’ status for Sunday close to the vest.  In what has been the norm around Foxborough since the start of the league year, The Patriots are embroiled in some sort of controversy involving...

10 NFL Free Agent Signings That Rocked For 2013

Was the Randy Moss deal in 2007 the biggest steal in NFL history? If you ask Randy, or Tom Brady, the answer has to be a resounding yes! 23 touchdown catches make a fantastic case. Some free agent signings pay off big-time, while others only seem to benefit the bank account of the player striking gold in a new city. But one thing is sure- every year will see a slew of players cut...
