(Brian Cassella/Chicago Tribune)[/caption] The Bears went to Arizona on Sunday and came away with a victory. It wasn't the most impressive or most exciting win, but they got the job done and are still right in the playoff hunt. Winning 28-13 over the Cardinals and producing just 297 yards of total offense won't turn many heads, but it felt like the Bears wanted it more from beginning to end. Cornerback Charles Tillman and Kelvin Hayden both had impressive games. Tillman had eight tackles and an interception, which he took back early in third quarter for a touchdown to put the Bears up 28-6. Hayden reeled in his first interception of the season late in the fourth quarter as the Cardinals were looking t...

Bears WR Devin Hester's Time in Chicago is Up

Perhaps no player personifies the Lovie Smith era in Chicago more than Bears wide receiver and kick returner Devin Hester.  Hester has been brilliant at times, the best return man in the NFL.  Hester may go down as the best of all-time, but as a wide receiver he's been an abject failure.   Hester's days as a player in Chicago are numbered, regardless of what his contract...

Bears in Desperate Need of Safety Help

With the injury to safety Chris Conte on Sunday, the Bears are in need of help at the safety position.  Safety Craig Steltz was already placed on the injured reserved list, ending his season leaving the Bears with only second year safety Anthony Walters and Major Wright to play the back end of the defense.   Now the question becomes where are the Bears going to find that safety...

Bears Injury Report: Brandon Marshall, Tim Jennings, Earl Bennett

Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall is probable to today against the Arizona Cardinals, but wide receiver Earl Bennett and cornerback Tim Jennings are questionable to suit up. Marshall was added to the Bears injury report on Thursday. While his hamstring injury limited his participation in practice Thursday and Friday, he is still considered probable to suit up against...

Chicago Bears cut ex-Buckeye Dane Sanzenbacher

The Chicago Bears have decided to part ways with their homeless man’s version of Wes Welker, a guy known for wearing bolo ties while in college at Ohio State. Sanzenbacher played in just four games this year totaling a WHOPPING one reception for seven yards. He had a better rookie year last season, appearing in 16 games, 27 receptions on 54 targets, 276 yards and three touchdowns...

Bears Injury Report: Matt Forte Exits with Ankle Injury

Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte exited yesterday’s victory over the Arizona Cardinals after reinjuring his right ankle, reports Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune. “It is not the worst that I have ever felt but it is the third time,” said Forte while he stood in the locker room wearing a walking boot on the ankle. “So, it’s just getting a little aggravating.”...

Bears Agree To One-Year Contract Extension With LS Patrick Mannelly

When the 2012 season kicked off, long-snapper Patrick Mannelly became the longest-tenured player in Chicago Bears history. He has now been with the team for 15 seasons, and General Manager Phil Emery decided today that he'd like to see Pat around for a little while longer. The team announced today that Mannelly has been given a one-year contract extension, which will keep...

Jay Cutler Backs The Job Of Bears Offensive Coordinator Mike Tice

Only four teams in the NFL -- the Chargers, the Jets, the Jaguars and the Cardinals -- are averaging fewer yards per game than the beleaguered Bears offense. Those teams are a combined 22 games under .500. But the last thing Bears quarterback Jay Cutler wants to see is yet another change at the top. He's hard three offensive coordinators in four years (Ron Turner, Mike Martz...

The Cincinnati Bengals have acquired wide receiver Dane Sanzenbacher on waivers from the Chicago Bears and placed first-round draft pick Dre Kirkpatrick on injured reserve. Sanzenbacher was released this week by the Bears and was picked up Tuesday by the Bengals. He played in five games with one catch for 7 yards this season. Kirkpatrick, the 17th overall selection in the 2012...

Jay Cutler has his own Rack at Target

Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger?

Challenge….accepted. Chicago Bears future Hall of Fame Inside Linebacker Brian Urlacher  re-iterated something the other day which has piqued my interest for a couple of months now. Half of his sentiment drew staunch criticism from all sources but the other half, at least to some extent, rings true. Last weekend, the previously 7-1 Bears slipped to 8-6, having lost 5 of the last...

Bengals claim Sanzenbacher, put Kirkpatrick on IR

Wide receiver Dane Sanzenbacher is heading home. The Maumee, Ohio, native and Ohio State alumnus was claimed off waivers by the Cincinnati Bengals on Tuesday. Sanzenbacher was waived by the Chicago Bears a day earlier. The Bengals cleared a roster spot for Sanzenbacher by placing rookie cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick on injured reserve because of a knee injury. In four games with...

Bears lead the league in Hall of Fame players, who’s next?

Iconic names like George Halas, Bronko Nagurski, Dick Butkus, Mike Singletary, Walter Payton, and Mike Ditka stir echoes throughout the hallowed hall. With a league leading 27 legendary Monsters of the Midway permanently hibernating in Canton, the NFL Hall of Fame could conceivably be nick-named the Bear Cave. The most recent player to join the clan of caved Chicago Bears was Richard...
