The Ravens' final preseason game tonight in Atlanta is noteworthy only for the number of players it will dump into the real world by Saturday afternoon. It's cutdown time and that means squeezing the last ounce of potential out of the unprovens.
Coach John Harbaugh said this week the Ravens might go against the norm in formulating their final 53, based on what positions the best players fill. That might mean the team keeps as many as 10 linebackers, for instance, or seven defensive linemen. Seven D-linemen also might indicate a switch to more 4-3 defense than 3-4.
But for every position that keeps an extra player, there's another position that loses one. Here are a few things to consider when you watch the Ravens-Falcons bore-down tonight:
