Found August 29, 2008 on Dolphins Gab:
With the Dolphins going with Chad Pennington as their starter as least to begin the season, today the team moved veteran QB Josh McCown to the Panthers. What the Fins got in return has not been released. Either McCown or John Beck was not going to make the roster, as the Dolphins appear set with Pennington as the starter and rookie Chad Henne as the backup. McCown was signed on the first day of free agency, leaving the Raiders to join Miami. He got a $2.5 mil signing bonus, and until Pennington came aboard, he was in the mix to be the teams possible starting QB. Carolina may need a backup now, as Thursday night against the Steelers, backup QB Matt Moore suffered a shin injury. Last season in nine games with the Raiders, McCown threw for 1151 yards, 10 TD's and 11 picks with a QB rating of 69.4. He has 31 starts in six NFL seasons, and has played with the Cardinals, Lions and Raiders and now moves to Carolina.
