Spare us any comments on the title. We know dolphins are mammals; ‘Mammal fight’ just doesn’t have the same feel to it.

Well, it looks like the Miami Dolphins are not only practicing for the 2012 season, they’re also getting in reality show form for the upcoming “Hard Knocks” series on HBO.

We got a glimpse at what we might be seeing come training camp at Wednesday’s minicamp practice.

Omar Kelly of the Sun-Sentinel is reporting that safety Reshad Jones knocked QB David Garrard to the ground during a blitz, prompting a pissed off T Jake Long to later scuffle with rookie DE Olivier Vernon. Richie Incognito, a hothead from his days in St. Louis, had an altercation with with DL Ryan Baker. All this fighting in one day. Oh, the drama.

Head coach Joe Philbin said he liked the competitiveness in his players, but wasn’t too pleased with the lack of discipline.

"That can be a critical time in a game," Philbin told Ben Volin of the Palm Beach Post. "You have to be able to keep your poise and play.

"It's great to be tough, it's great to be physical. I (told) the defensive staff I want them to watch the film and tell me what they think happened. It's 15 yards, loss of down, clock, all those things. So yeah, there was good competitiveness, but you've got to be smart."

The Dolphins wrap-up their minicamp today.
