Rod Smith, the Broncos’ career receiving leader, is among 103 players/coaches/contributors — and five Broncos — on the preliminary eligibility list for joining the 2012 class in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. This is Smith’s first time on the list. Smith, who holds all of the Broncos main receiving records, also holds NFL records for receiving milestones for an undrafted player. Other Broncos eligible are running back Terrell Davis, linebacker Karl Mecklenberg, safety Steve Atwater and coach Dan Reeves. Davis, a 2000-yard rusher, league has made the final 25 several times but has yet to be a finalist.
