Flacco off the mark

Training camp notes: Cornerback Chris Carr, signed as a free agent by the Ravens this past offseason, might be the real deal as a kick returner. He runs fast and straight, hits the hole hard, and accelerates going both in and out of the hole. He’s been impressive during training camp. One of the players Carr is competing against, Yamon Figurs, has yet to practice because of an injury. What’s the injury? At this point, I don’t know, nor do I care. Figurs is playing his way right out of a Ravens uniform. *** Left offensive tackle Jared Gaither, in his second season as a starter, looks good. He occasionally still does little dumb things, but he is starting to become dominant.
