To no one’s surprise, the replacement refs were a topic of discussion during the second week of the 2012 campaign. And like usual, the discussion began shortly after the scabs negatively impacted a game, the Ravens-Eagles tilt in this instance. In the wild affair, which saw the Eagles barely emerge victorious, 24-23, the zebras were sluggish, taking an excessively long time to sort out penalties and keep things moving along. They also took a Ravens touchdown off the board, calling receiver Jacoby Jones for offensive pass interference after hauling in a well-placed, 25-yard score. To say the least, it was a questionable call and easily could’ve stood. For Joe Flacco, enough is enough. In his post-game press conference, the Ravens quarterback slammed the officials, whom he accuses of “affecting the integrity of the game.” Flacco is normally mild-mannered and reserved, so it says a lot for him to make these comments. Though, he wasn’t alone. Baltimore coach John Harbaugh also took...

Report: Ravens, Joe Flacco “shelve” contract talks

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Baltimore Ravens and quarterback Joe Flacco have now put their contract talks on hold until the offseason. Baltimore quarterback Joe Flacco and the Ravens were close to finalizing a long-term contract extension the first week of August before talks were tabled, according to league sources. But they were not just tabled; they essentially were...

Ravens fall short in mistake-filled loss to Eagles

Joe Flacco had the ball on target and a Ravens touchdown in Joe Jacoby's grasp. Flacco's celebration was short lived. Jacoby was whistled for offensive pass interference and the TD was wiped out. What should have been a 10-point lead turned into a field goal two plays later. The penalty and lost touchdown came back to cost Baltimore in a 24-23 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles...

Ravens lose to Eagles 24-23

Joe Flacco didn’t have a banner second half. It cost the Ravens (1-1) the game. Philadelphia (2-0) drove down the field to score a touchdown with a little less than two minutes to go. Mike Vick led the Eagles to their last score of the game and it was the decisive score. Flacco struggled to convert third downs and appeared to be a little too pass happy in the Ravens 24-23 loss...

5 reasons the Ravens could lose in Week 2

Yes, the Baltimore Ravens and Joe Flacco looked amazing last Monday Night against a division rival and yes the offense probably played the best game you’ve ever seen them play. The defense, while only giving up 13 points did bend a bit to the inside running game. Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Eagles struggled to beat a perennially rebuilding Browns team. So, why am I telling you...

Ravens yield lead, head in to fourth quarter tied with Eagles

The turnovers for the Ravens have started up again in the third quarter. Joe Flacco threw his first interception of the 2012 season while leading the offense to no points in the third quarter. However, after an Ed Reed interception with seconds remaining in the third quarter, Flacco hit Torrey Smith to put the Ravens in field goal range as the teams go to the fourth quarter. It’s...

Video: Ravens wide receiver celebrates touchdown by juggling

This touchdown pass from Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco to WR Jacoby Jones gave their team a 14-7 lead over the Philadelphia Eagles midway through the second quarter on Sunday. Jones then proceeded to celebrate by giving the folks in Philly a fine lesson in imaginary juggling. However, it would be the Eagles who got the last laugh in this one as QB Michael Vick scored a touchdown...

Prediction Saturday: Ravens don’t suffer a letdown this time

This game is a tough one to pick this early in the season. It’s not real clear how either team, the Ravens or Eagles, will be this season. Baltimore looked dominant Monday night and the Eagles won their game against the Browns, but turned the ball over five times. For this week, I’m rolling with the home team. Joe Flacco showed pinpoint accuracy in the Ravens’ 44-13 victory...

Jones busts out juggling TD celebration

After catching a touchdown pass from Joe Flacco, Jacoby Jones decided to give the home crowd in Philadelphia a postgame show. Jacoby Jones did a TD celebration which we have seen Chris Johnson pull off in the past, which seems quite complicated. The 21-yard touchdown pass to Jacoby Jones put the Ravens up 14-7 with 8:32 left to play in first half. Interesting note, Jones Nnamdi...
