Philadelphia Eagles first-round draft pick DT Fletcher Cox agreed to a 4-year deal with the team on Monday. The signing means that the Eagles have now signed all 9 of the players selected in this yearâ€™s draft.
The Eagles moved up three picks to get the 12th overall pick to get Cox, a 6â€™4, 298 player from Mississippi State. Though the rest of the drafted players were signed before the start of rookie minicamp in delay, both Cox and the Eagles remained positive about the progress of negotiations for his deal. At the conclusion of mini-camp last week, Cox was optimistic that a deal would be done before the start of training camp.
Concern about his contract never seemed to burden Cox, as he spoke with his agent frequently and trusted his expertise in moving the process forward. Now that the deal is out of the way, Cox is looking forward to the next challenge of his first few months in the league: training camp at Lehigh University.
