For those of you who have been asking for Russell Wilson to be benched in favor of Matt Flynn, Pete Carroll has an answer for you: "We have a little bit of a problem with Matt," Carroll said.  "Matt's still not full-speed. Anybody that thinks, OK, let's go with the other guy, well, he can't practice yet. ... He throws 15 throws a day, a couple days a week, so that's not really enough to get him ready in a game plan. He has to throw 50 balls a day to get ready, so that's not even an issue for us yet to have a chance to put him in." In short, Wilson is going to be the guy under center for the foreseeable future -- or, like Charlie Whitehurst and Tarvaris Jackson last season, at least until an injured Flynn becomes a better option than a healthy Wilson.

Carroll: "We're Going With Russell Right Now"

The Seattle Seahawks have had a hard time moving the football on the field and despite all the troubles head coach Pete Carroll said he is sticking with his rookie quarterback. "We're going with Russell right now," Carroll told The News Tribune. "He's working his tail off to get it right, and where all of the focus goes to the quarterback position, there&...

Seahawks staying with Wilson as starting QB

Despite Seattle's offensive struggles in its first four games, the Seahawks are sticking with rookie Russell Wilson as their starting quarterback. Coach Pete Carroll told The News Tribune of Tacoma, Wash., that Matt Flynn, the team's big offseason acquisition, wasn't ready to play because of an elbow injury that has limited him in practice. But Carroll later backtracked...

Seattle Seahawks: Week 5 NFL Power Rankings (#17)

Last week: 17 (+0) As they always do, the Seahawks fell flat on the road last week. Now there are calls for Russell Wilson’s job after his 3 pick performance (none of which were ruled touchdowns strangely) just a few weeks after he was the media darling who “beat the odds.” They’ve got a great defense and they’re great at home, but their offense isn’t very good and they...

Geraldo Calls Seattle's Football Team the "SeaWhores"

When it comes to the most trusted, dignified journalists in American history, of course Geraldo Rivera will be forever atop the list. No one else has made a career out of being so right, all of the time, like the distinguished Mr. Rivera. The latest example of Geraldo's class and dignity on television came as he discussed the Seattle Seahawks/Green Bay Packers controversial...

Seahawks MMQB: Miscues and missed opportunities as Seahawks lose 19-13

The better team won I should re-phrase that, the team that played better on Sunday won.  Hats off to the St. Louis Rams for the big divisional win.  The Rams coaching staff put together a great game plan that put the team in position to win. The players executed the plan and that is why they won.  On the other side of the field, the Seattle Seahawks entered the Edward Jones Dome...

Seahawks vs. St Louis Rams: Things to love & hate from Sunday

Playing to their level The Seattle Seahawks went into St Louis on Sunday looking to make a name for themselves in the NFC West. After starting off the year with a heartbreaking loss at division rival Arizona, the Seahawks couldn’t afford to lose their second division game of the year. Leave it to the Seahawks, though, and they’ll surprise you in many ways. After looking stellar...

Bettor Geno DiFelice won $725,275 on Packers-Seahawks Hail Mary call

Amid the influx of horror stories we have heard about replacement officials and how awful they were for the game of football, there is at least one story that sticks out from all the rest. By blowing one of the biggest calls in NFL history and essentially handing the Seahawks a win over the Packers last week, the NFL’s replacement refs changed the lives of Branford, Ontario’s...

Replacement refs received death threats after Monday night's debacle

According to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports via NFL.com, replay official Howard Slavin and side judge Lance Easley, a replacement official, received numerous death threats following last Monday night’s debacle in Seattle between the Seahawks and Packers. Glazer said that NFL security was forced to get involved because of how bad the situation got. I find it very sad and disturbing...

The State of the Passing Game

Through three weeks of play, the Seahawks have showcased an impressive number of top-flight abilities.  One of the stoutest run defenses in the league?  Check.  An intimidating, physical secondary?  Check.  Great special teams play regardless of whether they’re on the giving or receiving end of things?  Check.  A pile-driver of a run game?  You better believe that’s a...
