Tom Brady should be Foles model
The NFL is all about throwing the football and Eagles head coach, Andy Reid is their leading ambassador. With this being a quarterback-driven league, a team needs one who is a smart, decisive, leader of men. The Eagles may have one in Nick Foles, but after watching Monday night’s Patriots blowout over the Texans, Tom Brady is who Foles should aspire.
Brady’s accomplishments may be more than any up and coming quarterback can match, but Foles physically is more Brady-like than any other in the league. Foles is two inches taller at 6-foot-6 and about fifteen pounds heavier at 243 pounds. And the most important aspect of all, is that he plays from the pocket. When he scored on his turtle-like run in the Tampa Bay game on Sunday, he made sure all his receiving options were exhausted before reluctantly taking off despite the miserable performance of his offensive line.
Brady is clearly the force behind the Patriots success both offensively and defensively all due to the fact that he is the ultimate leader on that team and in that stadium. No more apparent as when he, who is also slow afoot, ran for a first down. He slid, popped up and emphatically gestured the first down signal that ignited the fans in Foxboro. Brady, like Peyton Manning are the quintessential competitors that are driven to win and hate to lose. A quality not seen in an Eagles’ quarterback in recent memory.
On Sunday, Foles completed an Eagles’ rookie-record 32 passes for 381 yards although he was sacked six times. He showed courage standing in the pocket and leading the 23-21 win to end the Eagles’ eight-game losing streak as time expired. Foles displayed the poise of a veteran in the game-winning drive converting two fourth downs with no timeouts and not getting rattled after almost throwing a game-ending interception on the way to the winning score. Reid claims Foles requested the one yard TD pass-play to Jeremy Maclin after spiking the ball with 0:02 left, which if true, says a lot of the confidence Foles has in his ability, in only his fourth NFL start.
After the play, Foles, interestingly, did not over-celebrate like the rest of his teammates. He kept his head while everyone else around him was losing theirs, including Reid and his coaches, as if they had just won the Super Bowl. Which to me, is a good sign that he can lead by example.
But ultimately Foles should get as much film of Tom Brady as he can and somehow talk to him as much as possible. Because if nothing else, he shouldn’t ” want to be like Mike”…. but like Tom!

Vote: Who Is the Best NFL Quarterback to Wear No. 12 Other Than Tom Brady?
Some of the best quarterbacks in NFL history have worn a number that’s on everyone’s mind today — 12. Perhaps none have been better than the QB who has played under center in New England for the past 12 seasons.
But including Tom Brady on such a poll of 12s would be simply unfair to the rest of his competition. So we’re looking to see which quarterback other than Brady is...

5 Reasons Why Tom Brady Is The NFL's Most Valuable Player
With Tom Brady's four touchdown passes in the Patriots 42-14 dismantling of the Houston Texans Monday night, let the debate begin. Tom Brady is the NFL's Most Valuable Player for the 2012 season.I know of one voter who might disagree, (Adam Schein endorses Andrew Luck for MVP), but how could you even consider Luck, after watching Brady go to work Monday night on J.J. Girls Of The NFL: Week 15
Things are really starting to heat in the AFC playoff race. Cincinnati runs into Nick Foles and the Eagles tonight which might be a must win game if they want to stay alive. The Eagles are getting 5 points at home. We don’t recommend betting on this one because Foles is too unpredictable, but if you’re feeling frisky, take the Birds +5.
This is also a huge weekend for the NFC...

Tom Brady respects the hell out of this 49ers defense
How much does he respect this defense? Enough to start studying up on them back on Thanksgiving. Tom Brady went on and on yesterday about the 49ers defense, which of course, he does about every team every week. However, he doesn't often say stuff like "There’s no real weakness on this defense" multiple times very often. I remember listening to a BS Report with Bill...
Live Microphone: Tom Brady
The presence of Robert Griffin III on the football field, both as a passer and runner, is incredible. We have seen countless articles sounding the view that RGIII is changing the NFL. QB Tom Brady has even begun talking about RGIII in post game comments.
“I don’t run too often so I’ve got to show them I can still do it a little bit,” Brady said. “All the people...
Facing Pats, 49ers looking to step up offensively
Colin Kaepernick and the San Francisco 49ers are looking forward to matching up with Tom Brady and the prolific offense of the New England Patriots on Sunday night.
It may be more a matter of keeping up.
After breakout performances in Kaepernick's first two NFL starts, the San Francisco offense lacked rhythm and punch the past two weeks as the 49ers lost in overtime to the...

It's hard not to be excited at the moment. The New England Patriots are on a seven game win streak, after pummeling the previously 11-1 Houston Texans 42-14. But the dust has settled. The Patriots are seen as powerful again. People are scared of the Patriots. But let me channel my inner Bill Belichick here. We did a lot of good things out there. But let's not get ahead...

Waiver Wire Pickups Week 15
As the playoffs officially begin for all fantasy football leagues, never could getting the right guy off the waiver wire be more important. MNF: The Boston Meat Party: The Pats Gorge on Tex-Mess
The Patriots quickly and emphatically let everyone know who the class of the AFC still is. The Texans took a shot from the Patriots and walked out stumbling to a 42-14 defeat, and the game wasn’t even that close. The Texans may be tied for the best record in the NFL, but the league was served notice over who is still the team to beat.
The Patriots didn’t waste any time in...

You can sense that things are shifting atop the power grid of NFL teams, with the familiar juggernauts like the Patriots and Packers and 49ers picking up steam, while early heavy hitters like Houston and Atlanta begin to slip up.

2. New England Patriots (10-3, 4th last week): Tom...
Rondo says he could've played quarterback in the NFL, stops short of saying he'd be as good as Brady
With the entire region still flying high after the Patriots evisceration of the Texans on Monday night football, it's no surprise that the Pats became a big time talking point at Celtics practice today. First, we found out that not only was Doc Rivers on the sideline with Bill Belichick, but he actually sat in on the pre-game war room meeting, per Mark Murphy's twitter.
