Being a head coach and general manager is a tough job even the best coaches fail at. Bill Belichick is one of the few who make it look easy, but it’s not. Andy Reid while in Philadelphia ran the entire show, but in the end things snowballed to a point where both Reid and the Eagles had to hit the reset button. Personnel decisions are complicated matters; it’s not just about bringing in players. There’s cap numbers and contracts, keeping track of players on the team’s watch list throughout the NFL and other comings and goings. The personnel game is just that and it can’t distract even the sharpest coaches. In Kansas City Reid has relinquished those duties in order to get back to what he does best, coach. “I was a little more involved with the personnel [with the Eagles],” Reid said, via Mike Florio of Profootballtalk.com. “It’s good to have [G.M.] John [Dorsey] here doing that.  I have ultimate trust in him.  Not that I didn’t in Philadelphia, that’s not what I’m saying, but I also trust that he has it under control and is rolling.” “I had a lot of trust in Howie [Roseman], so I don’t mean that, and Tom Heckert before that,” Reid said.  “I trusted him.  Those guys, I trusted.  I was just asked to do a little bit more there.  For that part of my career, it was great.  I’m glad to be doing this.  I’m enjoying this.”
