The currently unemployed and former Denver Broncos (2010-11) and New York Jets (2012) quarterback topped the survey of the most influential athletes with a whopping 28 percent. Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps finished second with 25 percent, followed by Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt with 23 percent and New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter with 22 percent. Broncos QB Peyton Manning, who replaced Tebow in Denver, finished fifth on the list with 21 percent. NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson took the top spot in the survey in 2011 and 2012. Whether an unsuspecting NFL team gives Tebow a shot or he decides to take his talents to Canada or to television as an analyst for ESPN or FOX Sports, we’re going to continue to hear about him one way or another.
