Looks like former Cincinnati Bengals WR Laveranues Coles will start his third stint with the New York Jets after signing for the veterans’ minimum on Friday. Coles was released by the Bengals in March after just one disappointing season in which he finished with 43 receptions for 514 yards and five touchdowns. Cincinnati signed Coles in March 2009 as the replacement to T.J. Houshmandzadeh—who left for the Seattle Seahawks after eight seasons with the Bengals. He is expected to be the No. 3 wideout for the Jets behind Jerricho Cotchery and Braylon Edwards until Santonio Holmes—who is suspended for the first four games of the season—returns in Week 5.
