Two of the Broncos’ second-round picks from 2009 have finally found new teams.

Safety Darcel McBath (No. 48 overall) has signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars, and tight end Richard Quinn (No. 64 overall) has signed with the Washington Redskins. Both players were Broncos when the preseason began, but neither ended up on the 53-man roster to start the season.

It took until this week for either to find a new team despite a slew of tryouts during the season.

The second-round of the 2009 draft will go down as one of the worst rounds in team history. None of the three picks lasted more than two seasons with the Broncos. Former coach Josh McDaniels traded a future first-round pick to take cornerback Alphonso Smith at No. 37 overall. Smith was traded to Detroit, for tight end Dan Gronkowski, at the end of training camp in 2010. (Gronkowski was released at the end of training camp this year and has spent some time on the Patriots’ roster.)

McBath was one of the final players cut by the Broncos before the regular season. He actually made the initial 53-man roster only to be cut a day later when the team signed cornerback Jonathan Wilhite, who had been released by New England. McBath played in 20 games in his two seasons for the Broncos but never could stay healthy.

Quinn, who admitted he was surprised to be drafted where he was, played in 29 games (with four starts) in two seasons here. He suffered a knee injury in training camp, went on injured reserve and then was released with an injury settlement.
