Defensive Tackle Chris Hovan, a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the past five seasons, has agreed to a contract with the St. Louis Rams. Seeing that they lacked any prominent threat on the line, the acquisition of Hovan will give St. Louis some depth up front, as well as a reliable run stuffer.

The Bucs felt no need for Hovan’s services following their decision to draft both Gerald McCoy and Brian Price in the first two rounds of the NFL Draft.

Statistics with TB (5 seasons):

  • Games: 79 (missed one game in 2008)
  • Tackles: 168
  • Sacks: 5
  • Pass Deflections: 4
