Former Longhorn Bijan Robinson Not Satisfied With Rookie Year

The Texas Longhorns produced one of the NFL's most prolific rookie stars this past season, yet if you ask him he isn't satisfied.

Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson has already emerged as one of the top ball-toters in the NFL, but in an appearance on Up & Adams Show, he revealed his rookie season was a letdown for himself.

"For me setting high expectations I know other people will set other high expectations as well," said Robinson. " 1,400 yards might be like an amazing stat, but like for me it's like you know...I feel it can be better."

Robinson totaled 976 yards rushing on 214 carries and four rushing touchdowns, while also adding 58 catches for 487 yards and four touchdowns. The stat line is one that most rookies would be thrilled with, but both the former No. 8 pick and Falcons fans were expecting more. Something he expressed to Kay Adams.

"It's kind of crazy because sometimes I'll like see some people say like "that wasn't a good enough season" and I can agree with them because like I know what God has for me in the future, and I know this is a good start. But for me setting the expectations that I do set...I'll always try to go higher for myself."

While Robinson would never say it, the media and fans will. His now-former head coach Arthur Smith didn't utilize him nearly enough, and part of his downfall was not using all of the weapons he had at his disposal which is a major reason he is no longer the head coach.

With a new coach that he is already supported in a major way, Robinson is poised for an even bigger year in 2024.
