Former NFL Player And Current Denver Sports Radio Host Takes A Huge Shot At Russell Wilson For What He Did At The Pittsburgh Pirates Game

The Steelers made a splash at quarterback back in March when they signed free agent veteran quarterback Russell Wilson to a contract and then traded away their starting quarterback, Kenny Pickett. Pittsburgh also traded for Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields to be Wilson’s backup next season. Wilson is looking to have a better time in Pittsburgh than the time he spent in Denver the last two years.

Wilson Struggled In Denver

Wilson was traded to the Denver Broncos for a load of draft picks and players in 2022. The Broncos thought they were getting the savior of their franchise, but after two horrible seasons with the team and even seeing himself get benched late in 2023, it was over. Denver had to move on, and they cut him this offseason.

It’s safe to say Wilson didn’t have the best time in Denver on and off the field. Some people who covered him while there also seemed not to have the most fantastic time with Wilson. One former NFL player and current Denver radio host took a shot at his former quarterback on the social media platform X the other day.

Former NFL Analyst Takes A Shot At Wilson

Former Broncos player and current NFL analyst Mark Schlereth took a shot at Wilson when MLB tweeted a video that showed Wilson throwing out the first pitch at the Pittsburgh Pirates game last week.

Wilson has a baseball background and even played two minor league seasons in the Colorado Rockies minor league system far before he became an NFL quarterback.

Schlereth made a funny joke towards Wilson, saying, ” I’m pleasantly surprised he didn’t pull the ball and scramble for a strike.

Denver fans have seen Wilson pull the football down a lot in the last two years, taking off and scrambling. Schlereth was just being funny, but he knows from watching Wilson the previous two years that anything is possible with him.
