PLAYERS: Stephen Davis
Former NFL running back Stephen Davis says he already is suffering short-term memory loss at age 38 as a result of concussions he suffered while playing. Davis told The Washington Times his condition became serious enough that he began recording conversations so he could remember them. He added his long-term prospects are not encouraging based on his visit to a neurologist three months ago. “Looking at the results and they’re not that good,” Davis told the Times in a telephone interview from his home in Columbia, S.C. “I need to get special treatment, further treatment to try and get it taken care of. A lot of things scare me a whole lot, and it bothers me because there isn’t no telling what day I’ll forget everything.”
