Leonard Little was interested in returning to the St. Louis Rams this season if the team needed him. They never did, and with that Little, who was one of the NFLs most feared pass rushers in his prime, told Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that hes retired for good. The Rams finally got Chris Long, the former No. 2 overall pick, to start playing and paired with veteran James Hall, theyve gotten quality play at the position. "I didn't want to leave there and leave a hole to be filled," Little told Thomas. "But Chris Long started playing well last year, and I felt comfortable walking away from it." Little drew significant interest from other clubs in preseason and at the beginning of the season. But I told them I was not coming back," Little said. "I miss playing football, but you don't miss what it does to your body. Over the last few years I've been injured, and it's been more stuff than I let people know. So I think it's a good time for me to walk away rather than leave another way." Little had 87 ½ sacks in his career with the Rams.
