Former Pittsburgh Steelers offensive lineman Doug Legurksy signed with the Buffalo Bills on Wednesday after visiting with them on Tuesday.
Legursky, who was originally signed by the Steelers as an undrafted free agent in 2008 out of Marshall, spent his first five years in the league with Pittsburgh as a backup center/guard.
In 2012, Legursky started two games at center and one at left due to injuries suffered to both Maurkice Pouncey and Willie Colon during the season.

Although Pittsburgh Steelers rookie linebacker Jarvis Jones played in a 3-4 defense while at Georgia, veteran inside linebacker Larry Foote said on Wednesday after practice that it will be tough for him to overtake fourth-year linebacker Jason Worilds as the starter outside right away.
“It's going to be difficult (for Jones to start immediately), especially outside,” Foote...
The Pittsburgh Steelers will wrap up their third and final OTA session on Thursday with a practice at Heinz Field, and overall they've been pretty lucky when it comes to injuries. However, a source told me Wednesday evening that second-year tight end David Paulson missed some time this week with an injured ankle or foot that required him to wear a boot for a few days.
Now that the Pittsburgh Steelers have wrapped up all of their OTA sessions of the 2013 season they head into next week with eight of their nine 2013 draft picks under contract, as only fourth-round quarterback Landry Jones remains unsigned.
This past week the Steelers signed linebacker Jarvis Jones, running back Le'Veon Bell and defensive end Nick Williams, and all of their...
As discussed here previously, it is safe to say that the Pittsburgh Steelers currently have a dearth of leadership on offense that stems from championship success. Aside from quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, only tight ends Heath Miller and Matt Spaeth can boast a Super Bowl ring in the offensive huddle.
A champion’s leadership had seemingly been a staple of the...
With second-year tackle Mike Adams currently recovering from stab wounds suffered early Saturday morning on the South Side in an attempted carjacking, several Pittsburgh Steelers players are being asked to comment about the incident and veteran inside linebacker Larry Foote was asked to give his thoughts Tuesday after practice.
"Well you know; bad people come out late at night...
The Buffalo Bills have signed offensive lineman Doug Legursky.
Legursky, who can play center and guard, visited the Bills on Tuesday, and the five-year veteran agreed to a deal on Wednesday.
Legursky, 26, spent his first four NFL seasons in Pittsburgh, and appeared in all 16 games for the Steelers in 2012. He has played in 50 NFL games with 17 starts.
He will be in the mix for...
Season 3, Episode 109 of The Terrible Podcast is up and co-host David Todd and I talk about the Wednesday surgery that Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger had on his right knee that will keep him sidelined until the start of training camp and how the other quarterbacks on the roster will benefit from the extra reps in practice.
Tight end David Paulson is also apparently...

Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Ike Taylor was playing some of the best football of his career before his season ended on a broken ankle against the Baltimore Ravens on December 4th. While he was not picking off passes in bunches, Taylor continued quietly in his staple role with the Steelers as defender of the marquee receiver. No matter whom the receiver, Taylor...
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger underwent minor right knee surgery Wednesday to ”clean out some cartilage,” reports the Associated Press.
Roethlisberger has a long history of NFL bumps and bruises, but it’s been some time since his knees were the issue. He last had a knee procedure in 2005, which cost him just four weeks of recovery time.
During the 2012...
Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said that
offensive lineman Mike Adams – who was stabbed during a recent robbery attempt –
is expected to make a full recovery and will be released from the hospital in
the next 24 hours, according to Dan Gigler of The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
"I visited with him a couple days this weekend. He's
got great team support [and...
Police say they've arrested a second suspect in the weekend stabbing of Pittsburgh Steelers offensive lineman Mike Adams.
Police spokeswoman Diane Richard says 26-year-old Dquay Means was arrested Monday on charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault and conspiracy. Police announced Monday that 25-year-old Michael Paranay had been arrested on the same charges. Both are...
On Wednesday it was reported that Ben Roethlisberger underwent knee surgery to repair some issues in his right knee. Coach Mike Tomlin called it, “minor” and said, “This surgery will have no long-term effects on his health.”
It is the same surgery that repaired his left knee in 2005 and that knee has been clear of injury since so there is no reason to believe this time should...
Yeah...I don't know a damn thing about this "Big Legursky" guy.
So, Bam Morris (Not sure if he's that Bam Morris, but you can ask him) of The Blitzburgh blog, dishes the dirt on Doug Legursky. Enjoy and tell a friend.
What are his strengths and weaknesses?
Doug Legursky has been a backup lineman in Pittsburgh for a while, and the thing about linemen...
