Connor Barwin signed a six-year, $36 million contract with the Philadelphia Eagles two weeks ago after spending his first first four years in the NFL with the Houston Texans. While the $36 million helped cushion the blow, it appears that it was pretty tough for Barwin to leave Houston. The former Cincinnati Bearcat and University of Detroit Jesuit High School graduate put a full-page ad in the Houston Post and thanked many, many, many people.
The fans? Check. Teammates, coaches and Texans brass? Check. The pizza man? Check. Mohawk Steve? Check.
Most often you’ll see athletes throw up a “Thanks for everything” ad, but this one went above and beyond. Kudos, Connor. Good luck in Philly, man.
