Found May 25, 2012 on State of the Texans:

According to ProFootballTalk, Justin Forsett, RB, (26, 5’8″, 198 lbs.) formerly of the Seattle Seahawks, will be visiting the Houston Texans on Wednesday, May 30, 2012.  Forsett saw a large decrease in carries with the Seahawks in 2011  with 46 carries for 145 yards and 1 TD  as Marshawn Lynch became the primary back. In recent years, Forsett produced 118 carries for 523 yards and 2 TDs in 2010, and 114 rushes for 619 yards and 4 TDs in 2009.  Forsett also was a reliable contributor in the passing game as well as the punt/kickoff returns in the earlier part of his NFL career.

Justin Forsett played his college football at California (alongside Marshawn Lynch in his first three years at Cal) and was drafted by the Seahawks in round 7 of the 2008 NFL Draft. Forsett was an All-Pacific-10 Conference First Team selection in 2007.

Currently, the Texans depth chart is Arian Foster, Ben Tate and with Javarris Williams, Davin Meggett (R) and Jonathan Grimes (R) fighting for the third roster spot. Adding Forsett to the mix adds some healthy competition.

Getty Images According to, a source close to the Seattle Seahawks, former Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Kellen Winslow Jr. will be used as a rotational player for the team. Translation: he’s no longer perceived as a full-time player the way he was in Tampa Bay. The source told Adam Caplan of Sirius XM Radio that the Seahawks “just didn’t think he could be more...

Off The Field: The Justin J. Watt Foundation

“Dream Big, Work Hard” Texans’ fans, you should be very proud. Everyone knows the impact JJ Watt had in his first season as a Texan on the field, but no matter what he achieves on the field, it won’t compare to what he is doing off the field.   In just his second year as the Texans’ starting defensive end, Watt has fully embraced Houston.  Even as much as recently tweeting...

Carmichael, Harris to bolster secondary depth

HOUSTON There was no time for rookie coddling, hand holding or intensive individual instruction. Post-lockout haste negated all of that. Texans defensive end J.J. Watt and linebacker Brooks Reed were forced to swim after being tossed in the deep end of the pool as rookies out of sheer necessity last season, and each showcased an inspiring amount of adaptability by contributing...

No Puppies: Texans OTAs

Some more notes from the first week of Texans 2012 OTAs.   - Second year cornerback Roc Carmichael feels fortunate to have sat out his first season and learn the defensive scheme, and he felt that his playing time would have been little with him behind in the learning process with the lockout last season. He also felt fortunate to use the 2011 season as a “redshirt” season...

Kellen Winslow sued for $133k for trashing mansion rental

Seattle Seahawks newly acquired tight end, Kellen Winslow, made headlines this week after being traded from Tampa Bay. He's back again, after allegedly trashing a$9,000 a month, San Diego rental home, this, according to the San Diego Tribune. Winslow and his wife only rented the home for six months, but to the owners maintain that was enough to wreck the place and the furnishings.

Seahawks decline “Hard Knocks” invitation

Getty Images The Seattle Seahawks have stated that they were approached about being featured in HBO’s Hard Knocks, but they’ve decided to decline the invite. It seems like every team that gets approached about “Hard Knocks” ends up declining and I can’t say I blame them. After watching the Jets a couple of years ago, I think it’s turned teams off. When it comes...

McNair thinks city should lead in Super Bowl bid

Houston Texans owner Bob McNair says the city should take the lead in trying to land the Super Bowl. On Wednesday, Harris County Sports Convention Corp. chairman Edgar Colon said the county and Reliant Park plan to bid on the 2017 Super Bowl. Reliant Stadium hosted the 2004 Super Bowl, two years after the Texans joined the league. McNair acknowledges that Houston is not considered...

Walter committed to all facets of his game

By now Kevin Walter is used to the talk every offseason: How the Texans absolutely have to upgrade at the wide receiver spot opposite Andre Johnson and how they need to add another deep threat to the offense. "They've been saying that since I've been here," said Walter. "This is my tenth season, my seventh year (with the Texans) and they've been saying...

Why Kellen Winslow Will Fail in Seattle

While Kellen Winslow is a good player, since joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Josh Freeman, Winslow has failed to match the production he achieved in his two best seasons with the Cleveland Browns. In 2006 and 2007, Winslow recorded 171 receptions, 1,981 receiving yards, and eight touchdowns.   However, in 2009 and 2011 with Tampa Bay, Winslow recorded 152 receptions, 1,647...

Seahawks’ three-way quarterback competition has begun

AP Photo According to John Boyle of the Everett Herald, during this week’s OTA’s, Matt Flynn, Russell Wilson and Tarvaris Jackson all split the first team reps on offense. Now we can say that the quarterback competition in Seattle has officially started and my guess is that it won’t end until midway through the preseason. So put on your seatbelts and enjoy the ride.

Winslow Likes What Patriots Are Doing

2012 NFL Draft: Justin Blackmon Among 15 Biggest Reaches

1. Seattle Seahawks – DE/OLB Bruce Irvin (15th pick) Irvin was without a doubt the biggest reach of the draft this year. This is not to say that Irvin will not develop into a good player at the next level. He actually may have been the most natural pass rusher in the entire Draft. Regardless, the majority of draft analysts didn’t project Irvin coming off the board until the...
