FOX broadcast cuts out in the middle of Falcons’ K Younghoe Koo’s game-winning FG

Falcons and Texans fans tuned into Sunday’s game on FOX might have some beef with the network. Coverage of the Week 5 game blacked out momentarily during Younghoe Koo‘s game-winning field goal for Atlanta.

Houston owned a 19-18 lead with just two seconds remaining in the contest. Atlanta sent Koo onto the field for a 37-yard attempt to win the game. Shortly after the boot, FOX’s broadcast briefly went dark.

We’re guessing a lot of panic and anger set in momentarily when the screen went blank among NFL fans. Fortunately, the broadcast only went out momentarily, and fans did see Koo’s kick travel through the uprights.

Well, maybe Texans fans weren’t thrilled to witness that, but Falcons fans enjoyed it:

Isn’t that everyone’s worst nightmare? Your team taking part in an exciting game that comes down to the wire, only to have the TV go dark. It’s not really clear what happened, but hopefully FOX gets that cleared up before next week’s games.

Thanks to Koo’s field goal, the Falcons recorded a 21-19 victory to improve to 3-2 on the season. The kicker made both of his attempts and also drilled an extra point in the win.

Atlanta sits just a half-game back of the NFC South standings, with Tampa Bay leading the division at 3-1. This weekend, Atlanta hosts the Washington Commanders in Week 6 with kickoff set for 1 p.m. ET on CBS.

CJ Stroud still hasn’t thrown interception in 2023

Sunday didn’t turn out the way the Texans had hoped. They were a field goal away from a win over the Falcons and improving to 3-2 on the year. But there were more positive takeaways for the Texans.

Rookie quarterback CJ Stroud still has yet to throw an interception this season. He’s thrown 186 passes this year without a single pick, setting a new NFL record for a first-time starter.

Stroud has thrown for 1,461 yards with seven touchdowns and a 57.1% completion rate. The young quarterback has led the Texans to wins over the Jacksonville Jaguars and Pittsburgh Steelers.

It’s an impressive feat for the rookie out of Ohio State, especially in today’s NFL when throwing the football has become such a critical element of the offense.

How long will Stroud be able to keep this streak without an interception alive? Houston hosts the New Orleans Saints this week at 1 p.m. ET on FOX.
