San Francisco 49ers running back Frank Gore isn't getting any younger, and as the 49ers are back in the postseason, he's focused as he can be to help his team make it to the promised land. "You don't get too many opportunities like this," he said, via San Jose Mercury News. "So let's try to go out and do it. It's not guaranteed you're going to come to the postseason every year." Gore, a 3rd round draft pick in 2005, currently is the league's No. 3 active rusher (8,839 yards), right behind a guy named Adrian Peterson (8,849). Yet, he's still trying to prove his worth as an elite back. He had 1,214 yards in 2012. He seems to get lost in the crowd due his veteran status, but make not mistake, Gore is an elite back, just like another veteran, the Rams' Steven Jackson, who happens to be number 1 on the active list (10,135). "Every day my admiration for Frank Gore as a football player, every time you think it's as high as it can be, then he finds another rung on the ladder in my esteem," head coach Jim Harbaugh said earlier in the season. "And then even more so as a person. He's just one of the finest guys you ever want to be around. He'd do anything for the team, and is just a football player, in all senses of the word, phrase."
