Bucs Beat:
Bucs defensive tackle Frank Okam was released today as the Bucs moved to add Eagles practice squad defensive end Daniel Te'o-Nesheim to the Tampa Bay active roster.
A third-round pick of the Eagles in 2010, Te'o-Nesheim played in six games with one start as a rookie. He had five tackles and sack. Te'o-Nesheim failed to make the active roster this fall with the Eagles having added defensive help through free agency.
The release of Okam is a mild surprise given the fact coach Raheem Morris seemed to hold him in high regard. But Okam had been slowed by a calf injury the past three games, sidelined for each contest. It's also arguable whether he was as effective as he was during his emergence in the final weeks of 2010, when he filled in nicely for the injured Gerald McCoy. It appears the Bucs did not have a need for a fifth defensive tackle, especially when defensive ends like Da'Quan Bowers and Tim Crowder are capable of playing tackle on passing downs.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Raheem Morris believes team can still win 10 games
Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Raheem Morris still believes that his club can still win 10 games this season. Someone should get Mr. Morris a hat to wear during practice because the Florida sun is getting to him. The Buccaneers are in the middle of a four-game losing streak and have dropped five of their last six contests.

Morris: Bucs' goals remain in reach
In Raheem Morris' mind, at least, nothing has changed since the start of the season.
The Bucs' goal at the outset was to win their division, and it remains so despite a four-game losing streak that dropped Tampa Bay three games behind first-place New Orleans in the NFC South.
"Our goal was to win the division,'' Morris said today during his weekly news conference...
Bowers, Blount need to step up for Bucs
When it rains, it pours. And for the Tampa Bay Bucs, theres a good chance the skies over Nashville will be doing just that Sunday when they play the Tennessee Titans in the first of six must-win games.
The prospect of a wet field and slippery football isnt exactly encouraging news for the 4-6 Bucs.
Nor is the latest bit of health news: a worsening groin injury to left defensive...

It’s About Time The Tampa Bay Bucs Got Mike Williams Involved
Mike Williams talked a lot of smack over the off season and into the preseason, and he hasn’t exactly taken the world by fire this season. I feel like he’s been severely under utilized in the Raheem Morris’s offense, so I was happy to see him bust out some plays.
I really like Mike Williams and his capability to make the big play, but he has to be put in the position...

Bucs show their grit in loss to Packers
Say this much about the Tampa Bay Bucs: They showed up to play Sunday afternoon in the fabled land of the frozen tundra and managed to put the heat on the highly favored Green Bay Packers.
That in itself was a noteworthy achievement.
But when it was all over, the Bucs left Lambeau Field, where the game-time temperature was a bone-chilling 31 degrees, with their recently unraveling...
Haynesworth: No ill will towards Titans (AP)
Tampa Bay's Albert Haynesworth says he is returning to Tennessee with no ill will toward the Titans. He has played with three teams since leaving the franchise that drafted him and says he's learned the hard way a big payday may not be worth the hassle. The defensive tackle said Wednesday players need to be careful going into free agency thinking the grass is greener with another team.

Buccaneers DT Albert Haynesworth Gloats To Reporters About Matt Schaub's Injury?
Buccaneers defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth raised some eyebrows in a teleconference with Nashville-area media this week ahead of Sundays game against his former team, the Titans. Asked about his hit on Houston QB Matt Schaub that caused Schaubs season-ending foot injury, Haynesworth was unapologetic. You know me. I love to hit Schaub, Haynesworth said. It was on the...
Chris Cooley thinks Albert Haynesworth hates football
I think we’d all have an easier time letting Albert Haynesworth go from our lives if he didn’t continue to say ridiculous things.
But he will not do that, and so, for example, he recently said that he always plays hard because he’s a role model to his children. And that he “should have just trusted myself” and signed with his first choice, the Bucs, instead of the Redskins...

Cooley thinks Haynesworth hates football
During the brief time that Chris Cooley and Albert Haynesworth were Redskins teammates, Cooley says he figured Haynesworth out: He has a natural talent for football, but he doesn’t like it very much. That’s what Cooley told 106.7 The Fan’s Chad Dukes (via Dan Steinberg of the Washington Post) in an interview in which Cooley…
