Free Agency: Big Decision Awaits Curtis Samuel
Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

Washington Commanders receiver Curtis Samuel faces a massive offseason ahead.

Samuel, 27, is set to hit free agency for the second time in his career, and he'll look to sign a big contract. The question is ... will the Commanders be the team who signs him? Or will he go elsewhere?

The 33rd Team ranked the league's top free agent receivers, and Samuel clocked in at No. 10.

Samuel finished his third season with the Commanders coming in second in targets and just nine shy of 100.

He also finished second in receptions (62) and receiving yards (613), and was one of five Washington players to secure four touchdown catches.

We'd like to see Samuel return to Washington this offseason and operate in what we expect to be a more balanced yet speed-friendly system with offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury at the controls.

Given his top 10 ranking, however, it's not likely Samuel will be devoid of suitors this offseason, making it a tad more difficult for his current team to retain his services.

When healthy, Samuel is paramount for the Commanders' offense. However, with Terry McLaurin and Jahan Dotson ahead of him on the depth chart, Samuel could look for an opportunity elsewhere, and Washington could look for a cheaper option either via free agency or the draft to fill in the role.
