The Stephon Gilmore Sweepstakes is in full swing, and the Indianapolis Colts are just the latest team to enter the chat.
#Colts owner Jim Irsay recently said GM Chris Ballard was in on a big-name free agent. Stephon Gilmore would certainly qualify. https://t.co/kZYQvaj6ZQ

Gilmore, the 2019 Defensive Player of the Year, is coming off a down season in which he was plagued by injuries. But as ProFootballTalk points out, he is likely still looking for a healthy payday as he looks to rebound in 2022, and the Colts are a team with enough cap space right now to potentially make that happen.
The five-time Pro Bowler has been connected to multiple teams since saying he would test free agency after one season with the Carolina Panthers. Carolina signed fellow corner Donte Jackson to a three-year deal earlier in the offseason, signaling that Gilmore would likely be walking. The Panthers recently mentioned they aren't opposed to bringing him back, although he appears pretty committed to finding a new home.
Of course, the biggest team connected to Gilmore as of late is the Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams, who are reportedly looking to bring the veteran CB in to play opposite Jalen Ramsay. The effort to bring Gilmore to Southern California is reportedly something Ramsay himself has signed off on.
#Rams CB Jalen Ramsey has made it known he would like to play with Stephon Gilmore. Adding Gilmore would make that secondary nearly impossible to throw on.
