The New England Patriots had Adrian Wilson, John Abraham, and Dwight Freeney come for visits, and the only one to come out with a contract that has a signature on it is Adrian Wilson. In addition, Elvis Dumervil's contract never went through, so he is a free agent. The final big name defensive end available is Osi Umenyiora (who I wrote about signing a while ago).
John Abraham and Dwight Freeney are now visiting Denver after Dumervil was unimpressed by the Denver offer, Dumervil is looking into Pittsburgh, Miami, Tennessee and Baltimore, and Umenyiora is visiting Atlanta.
The Patriots cap situation in-depth can be found here, but essentially they have $10 million that they are willing to spend. That is an ample amount to spend on a good lineman (either Sebastian Vollmer or Eric Winston I am assuming) and a good defensive end.
I would be up for any of the four aforementioned targets. Umenyiora says he will be defensive player of the year, but after a down year and being on a...

How Adrian Wilson Fits in with the New England Patriots : Great read from Frenz, with his signature...
Adrian Wilson gives the New England Patriots the physical presence they've lacked at safety. They give the former Arizona Cardinal a chance for a rare playoff appearance.
And the five-time Pro Bowl player says he hasn't lost a step despite diminished playing time last year. Wilson said Thursday that was the decision of his coaches and he feels great now.
The strong safety...
According to Pro Football Talk, the Pittsburgh Steelers are one of three teams interested in free agent outside linebackers Elvis Dumervil and Dwight Freeney.
This isn't the first time we have heard that the Steelers have an interest in Dumervil, but it is the first time that Freeney's name has been linked to Pittsburgh.
Mike Florio reports that Dumervil’s decision is...
Free agent defensive end Elvis Dumervil will see what the
rest of the market has to offer after being less than pleased with the contract
proposal he recently received from the Denver Broncos. While the Broncos remain
hopeful of reaching an agreement with Dumervil, they are lining up
alternatives, as the team is set to host free agent defensive ends Dwight
Freeney and John Abraham...
For some professional athletes, a number is more than just a digit or two pasted to their uniform.
It sounds like Adrian Wilson is one of those people and he’s willing to put diapers on the line to get his beloved No. 24.
Kyle Arrington, who just inked a four-year deal with the Patriots, has rocked the No. 24 Patriots jersey since 2011 after wearing No. 27 during the three previous...
The Denver Broncos have expressed interest in three free agent pass-rushers: John Abraham, Dwight Freeney, and their own former defensive end Elvis Dumervil. The Broncos will meet with the first two on Thursday; they have an offer extended to Dumervil at present.
So how do these free agent defensive ends compare? Let’s break it down –

The Patriots had Dwight Freeney and John Abraham in for a visit just about a week ago today. The visits didn't result in any signings, and both moved on to meet with the Denver Broncos today. Neither of those visits ended in any commitments either, as it's likely the Broncos were just doing their due diligence in case they lose pass rusher Elvis Dumervil. Dumvervill, of course...
Adrian Wilson has been in the NFL for 12 seasons, and he has worn the same jersey number every year. The veteran safety was always No. 24 with the Arizona Cardinals, but that number is already occupied with his new team. Cornerback Kyle Arrington, who has been with the New England Patriots since 2009, currently owns the hypothetical “rights” to that number. But Wilson still wants...
Adrian Wilson is new to the Patriots’ organization, but he’s already catching onto some of the team’s unwritten rules. Namely, phone calls.
Soon after free agency began, Belichick gave Wilson a call to talk about the possibility of coming to New England and the All-Pro safety was wise enough to answer.
“Whenever Coach [Bill] Belichick calls, you answer,” Wilson joked during...
According to ESPN’s Ed Werder, the Denver Broncos plan on bringing in free agents John Abraham and Dwight Freeney tomorrow, as they look for a replacement for Elvis Dumervil.

Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com reports that the Ravens have already ”expressed interest” in free agent DE Dwight Freeney.
La Canfora mentions that Baltimore is still in the market for pass-rusher, but only at the “right price.” League sources have informed him that Elvis Dumervil remains the Ravens’ “top target.”
There are a few issues with this idea. First, Dumervil...
Adrian Wilson hasn’t been a member of the Patriots for long, but he’s already providing one teammate with help in coverage.
Wilson has worn No. 24 throughout his NFL career, but he knew he’d have to do some convincing for the current No. 24 Kyle Arrington to give up his jersey. So, the veteran safety offered Arrington, who recently became a new father, a year’s supply of...
