The Majors Detroit:
Instead of the Lions having an interest in a free agent could the roles actually be reversed?
According to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport, this certainly seems to be the case as free agent defensive end Dwight Freeney is interested in signing with Detroit. In addition to the Lions, Freeney is also said to be interested in Miami and Denver two other teams that are in need of a defensive end.
What’s really interesting about this though is the Lions don’t appear to have interest in the veteran Freeney at this time. Perhaps though it could be due to the $6 million dollars per season Freeney is seeking. With those numbers it would seem the Lions would be priced out.
Colleague @michellebeisner reported on Total Access that Freeney wants $6M/year. Makes sense, with Dumervil’s range at $26M-$35M over 5.

Last season with the Colts, Freeney had 5.0 sacks in 14 games. Now given the depth at defensive end in this year’s draft I’d have to think the Lions wil...

When Osi Umenyiora signed with the Atlanta Falcons for a base earning of $8.5 million, Dwight Freeney was taking notes. Freeney, now 33 years old, is looking for a deal that exceeds that of Umenyiora, who is just 31 years of age, according to a report by Ian Rapoport.
The knee-jerk reaction would be to call Freeney's demands crazy. His level of play was not nearly as high...
Former Jets safety LaRon Landry cashed in big with the Colts in free agency.
With over $40 million in cap space available, the Indianapolis Colts wanted to make some noise in free agency. And did they ever.
But that noise isn’t universally praising, with some… well, let’s just say “questionable” signings. But overall. I would have to say that Colts GM Ryan Grigson (aka...

The Indianapolis Colts have acquired fullback Stanley Havili in a trade with Philadelphia in exchange for defensive end Clifton Geathers.
The 6-foot, 245-pound Havili gives the Colts their first true fullback in years and should help the new offense under first-year coordinator Pep Hamilton.
Havili was Philadelphia's seventh-round draft pick in 2011 and had six rushes for 22...
The Denver Broncos are now targeting pass rusher Dwight
Freeney since free agent Elvis Dumervil signed with the Baltimore Ravens. Talks
haven’t progressed much recently, and while they’re not dead they are moving at
a slower pace, according to Michelle Beisner of NFL Network.
Beisner notes that Freeney is seeking a contract that pays

The Philadelphia Eagles continued to make moves to shore up their new defense by acquiring DE Clifton Geathers from the Colts on Thursday in a trade, giving up fullback Stanley Havili.
