getty The Josh Freeman era in Tampa Bay is over. After a series of stories which brought the 25-year-old’s ability to lead into question he failed to produce on the field. In turn Tampa Bay has named Mike Glennon as the starting quarterback going forward. Glennon, a third-round pick, should be the Buccaneers starter for the rest of the season barring an injury. During the preseason, Glennon completed 33-of-70 passes (47.1 percent) for 397 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions. Freeman was the No. 17 overall pick in the 2009 draft but never lead the Buccaneers to the playoffs. After some initial success Freeman was 24-35 as the starter. Tampa Bay could offer him in a trade but thus far he has shown little to nothing this season. He will be a free agent at seasons end.
