The Bucs were hoping to finish strong in their home finale but failed to accomplish that goal. Instead, three turnovers lead to 21 points by the Rams in route to a 28-13 loss.  The Bucs started the game strong with their opening possession as they held the ball for 9:38 but only came away with a field goal. It looked good again for the Bucs in the second quarter as a pass by Rams’ Sam Bradford was picked off in the end zone by cornerback Danny Gorrer. But the wheels started falling off for the offense as they were unable to get anything accomplished. After the interception, Josh Freeman would throw an interception of his own when Rams’ Janoris Jenkins returned the interception for a touchdown as the pass was intended for Mike Williams, who fell down on the route. Still in the second quarter, Freeman forced a pass to Vincent Jackson who had four St. Louis defenders around him resulting in another interception by the Rams, this time by linebacker James Laurinaitis. Nine plays later, Steven Jackson found the end zone to put the Rams up 14-6 at halftime. On the first play of the third quarter, Sam Bradford hit Lance Kendricks in the middle of the field. Kendricks would then outrun Mark Barron and Ahmad Black to complete an 80-yard touchdown to put the Rams up 21-6. Three plays later, Freeman would be intercepted yet again by cornerback Trumaine Johnson on a slant intended for Mike Williams. St. Louis would score a touchdown on their ensuing possession to put the Rams up 28-6. The Bucs would finally answer back with a touchdown of their own after a 61-yard catch and run by Mike Williams. But at 28-13, the game went into the fourth quarter out of reach for the Bucs. A turnover on downs inside the Rams’ five yard line and a ball tipped in the air at the line resulted in another interception on the stat line for Josh Freeman and sealed the fate for Tampa Bay. The Bucs go up to Atlanta for the final game of the season to face the Falcons next Sunday.
