The Jacksonville Jaguars announced earlier today that Blaine Gabbert had a lacerated hand to the point that he will not play against Oakland this Sunday.Chad Henne will replace Gabbert in the lineup when the team travels to the west coast. The Jaguars are traveling to Oakland for the second time in two seasons, where Maurice Jones-Drew suffered a lisfranc injury and was lost for the remainder of the 2012 season and Blaine Gabbert was also injured and Henne came in to reliever the third-year passer.According to Vito Stellino of the Florida Times-Union on his Twitter account, the injury was so severe, it ripped off part of the skin.Gabbert had missed the last two preseason games with a fractured right hand before he started the season opener against Kansas City, a game the Jaguars fell 28-2.In a story on Jaguars.com, “Gabbert sustained the injury on the final series when he caught his hand in a facemask. Gabbert is missing some skin in the area where he sustained the laceration, Bradley said, and the missing skin has raised concern about infection in the area.”Head coach Gus Bradley said he did not know how severe the injury was until Sunday evening after the game.Because the Jaguars will start Henne, reports are that Ricky Stanzi will get mos tof the reps in practice as the backup. Adam Scott was in training camp and the preseason with the Jaguars before being released and re-signed to the practice squad.“(General Manager) Dave (Caldwell) and I will discuss those things, but right now, Ricky will be the guy getting multiple (additional) reps,” Bradley said.Gabbert completed 16 of 35 passes for 121 yards and two interceptions with no touchdowns Sunday in a game in which the offense produced 178 total yards. Henne came in for Gabbert and completed three of six passes at the end of the game after the injury happened. The injury to Gabbert was only one of a handful of issues the team must now deal with.In addition to an offense that could not move at all Sunday, the team is still dealing with the injury to Marcedes Lewis, who is still dealing with a calf injury. His status is still uncertain for the team.Rookie Dwayne Gratz injured his ankle. According to Ryan O’Halloran on his Twitter account, “Gratz told me he tore "some tissue" in his ankle and Gus said high ankle sprain will keep cornerback out minimum 3 weeks.”
