Inside The Panthers:
CHICAGO
The Panthers will be without their top cornerback Sunday against the Bears. Chris Gamble, who did not practice all week after sustaining a concussion last week vs. Jacksonville, did not make the trip to Chicago.
Darius Butler, claimed off waivers from New England last month, will make his first start for the Panthers in Gamble's spot. Gamble left in the second quarter last week after getting shaken up on a Jaguars' running play.
Gamble was listed as doubtful on Friday's injury report.
Gamble becomes the third Panthers' player to miss a game due to post-concussion symptoms in as many weeks. Right tackle Jeff Otah and strong safety Charles Godfrey were the others.
Otah was downgraded from probable to questionable on Friday with a lower back injury.
If Otah can't play, undrafted rookie Byron Bell would make his second career start.
