Really! I know it could get better than this, but we’ve lived through quite a few disappointments since 1970. 1 – 0. That’s enough for me. A winning record and a great win. Who wants to tempt fate? Let’s pull the plug with a winning record.

The New York Jets dominated the Houston Texans, today, in a game that, at least for one week, answered a lot of questions that Jet’s fans and NFL pundits have been asking all off-season. The New Yorker’s won the game 24-7 but that score was misleading since last year’s third-best offense hardly ever entered Jets’ territory. Houston’s only score was on an interception and fluke return in the third quarter. Matt Schaub, who is nobody’s schmuck, was 18-33 for 166 yards with no touchdowns; he also had his first interception since last October. As a team, the Texans had eleven first downs and a total of 38 yards rushing ...
