Some thought too much was being made of Favre's presence, that running back Adrian Peterson would be the one doing all the damage for the Vikings and Favre would have a modest game against his old team. Not quite. Favre was in playoff form and absolutely tore apart defensive coordinator Dom Capers' 3-4 defense. With the Packers sitting back in coverage rather than blitzing, Favre sat back in the pocket and picked the defense apart. He recognized just about every blitz and took advantage of soft zone coverage when it was there. Favre completed 24 of 31 passes for 271 yards and three touchdowns in one of his finest games at the Metrodome. On this night, Favre showed the Packers what they were missing without him.
