Deshaun Watson's game-worn cleats from Week 4 land in HOF

Deshaun Watson put on a historic performance against the Tennessee Titans in NFL Week 4, and now he’s landed himself in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Or, at least the cleats worn by him in that game made it into that hallowed place.

The Houston Texans rookie quarterback passed for 283 yards in the game, throwing four touchdowns and running in another. He became just the second rookie in NFL history to accomplish such a feat, with Fran Tarkenton being the only other.

Additionally, his five touchdowns scored in that game are second in NFL history for a rookie in a single game. Gale Sayers is the only rookie to have more (six). His four touchdowns thrown and one rushing score marked only the third time in history that a rookie had done it.

Needless to say, it was a day the NFL won’t soon forget. Especially now that his cleats worn in the game have a place in Canton.

Watson has truly been remarkable. Since taking over as the starter in Week 1 following an ineffective performance by Tom Savage, the Clemson product has totaled 14 touchdowns, including another five thrown this past Sunday night in defeat against the Kansas City Chiefs.
