IRVING, Texas Under different circumstances, this could've been an incredibly awkward week for Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett. Had the Cowboys not turned their season around by winning five out of six games, including three straight in December, this week would've been all about exiled Saints head coach Sean Payton.
The former Cowboys offensive coordinator still doesn't have a valid contract with the New Orleans Saints, and it looks like he'll be able to keep his options open into the offseason. And from all indications, the idea of working with close friend Jerry Jones is quite appealing to Sean Payton.
But at least in my mind, Garrett can put all that talk to rest with a win over the Saints at Cowboys Stadium on Sunday. He will have rallied his team from a 3-5 start to the cusp of a playoff appearance. Payton is certainly far more accomplished and dynamic than Garrett, but that doesn't mean he'll be working for the Cowboys next season. Jerry...

Tony Romo has had some outstanding performances over the last seven years as quarterback of the Cowboys.
A few that come to mind include a five-touchdown game against the Buccaneers in 2006, four four-touchdown games in 2007, a 23-of-26 (148.4 QB rating) game last season against the Bills and a 22-of-27 (150.5 QB rating) game against the Eagles earlier this month.
But none of those...
The NFC East has been tight all season and the final two weeks are shaping up to be interesting to say the least. Right now, the Redskins and rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III lead the division with two games to play. As you’ll see in our week 16 playoff picture, it’s conceivable that two teams wind up at 10-6 and into the playoffs but I think when the dust settles the Dallas...
The Saints travel to Dallas and will put up some points on the Cowboys.
The season is coming to a close and I'm sitting at 142-82. That's over .600 but I can do better.
Here's a look at week 16
Atlanta at Detroit - The Falcons destroyed the Giants last week and silenced a few critics that say they can't win the big game. I still want to see...
The Cowboys have had a very odd year with regards to their defense. So much so that at times you do just look at the personnel available and concede that to judge these players against a normal grading system is just unfair.
Then, you admit that injuries happen all of the league and there are no sympathy cards arriving in the mailbox. You also see that you are in the middle of...
(Eds: APNewsNow. With AP Photos.) By SCHUYLER DIXON AP Sports Writer The Dallas Cowboys couldn't trust receiver Dez Bryant to even run the right routes less than two months ago.
Now they're letting him dictate whether he plays with a broken left index finger. He's insisting on waiting until after the season for surgery.
Bryant broke the finger on a catch against Cincinnati...

IRVING New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees was born and raised in Dallas, he won a high school state championship at Texas Stadium in 1986 and was once a Cowboys fan. So he admits that Sunday's game at Cowboys Stadium means a little more to him than some other games.
"I remember that Dallas heyday in the 90s with Troy (Aikman) and the guys," Brees said Wednesday...

Heading into December at 6-6, after a rough November, traditionally a strong month, it didn’t look like the Cowboys would choke it away in December again, because they didn’t really have anything to choke away. Now at 8-6, controlling their own destiny for a playoff...

The NFL is all about parody.Locked in a 3-way tie for first place in the NFC East at 8-6, the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants find themselves coming down the stretch at the most pivotal time of the year once again.
