Jason Garrett blew it. And I don't mean the timeout that he called with 7 seconds left. I mean the timeout he didn't call after Dez Bryant caught the pass for a first down at the 32 yard line with 25 seconds on the clock. He should have called timeout and tried to get another 10-20 yards to make the field goal attempt for his kicker easier. Garrett claims that he was afraid of a negative play. Playing football afraid to make a mistake usually results in a loss. And Garrett's lack of trust in his offense cost the Cowboys their 5th straight victory.I'm not saying Jason Garrett is a terrible coach and he needs to be fired. I know some people feel that way. And is was a mistake that shouldn't happen. But we have to hope that Jason Garrett learns from his mistake and plays that situation more aggressively in the future. He will be the coach in Dallas for a long time regardless of the one bad game he called against the Cardinals.I saw a stat today that said th...

Garrett's zany decisions costs Cowboys

GLENDALE, Ariz. Well, it turns out that holding a degree from Princeton doesn't guarantee a head coach has a clue when it comes to clock management. The cardiac Cowboys had the chance to escape this house of horrors with a win late in the fourth quarter, but they were undermined by two baffling decisions by head coach Jason Garrett. With a 19-13 overtime loss to the Arizona...

Jones backs Garrett's questionable call

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones stood by coach Jason Garrett's questionable decisions in Sunday's overtime loss at Arizona. Jones, speaking on his weekly radio show on KRLD-FM, wouldn't bite when asked about the two critical decisions Garrett made at the end of regulation Sunday. The decisions basically amounted to the Cowboys "icing" their own kicker. "I&...

Poll: Does Cowboys’ Coach Jason Garrett Need an Offensive Coordinator?

Though this question has been asked over and over this season by diehard Dallas Cowboy fans, the overtime loss to the Arizona Cardinals in which Jason Garrett failed to call a time out when most needed and instead inexplicably iced his own kicker has raised the question once again. Does Jason Garrett need to hire an offensive coordinator and focus solely on his position as head coach...

Jason Garrett’s Timeout Inspires Vanilla Ice Remix: “Don’t Ice Ice Bailey”

Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett made a pretty bone-headed play during a 19-13 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. Garrett iced his own kicker, calling a timeout a split second before Cowboys kicker Dan Bailey booted what would have been the game-winning field goal. Bailey missed the one that actually counted and the Cowboys lost in overtime. Now Cowboy Jeff has made...

Jason Garrett Iced His Kicker and Costs Cowboys Win

Week 13, Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett inexplicably iced his own kicker Dan Bailey and cost his team a win against the Arizona Cardinals. Every loss is big in the NFL but this particular defeat may cost the Cowboys a chance at the playoffs. They still lead the NFC East but failed to gain additional ground on the New York Giants who lost a heart breaker against the Green...

Video: Does Garrett trust Tony Romo?

PFT Live: Mike Florio talks about the decision by Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett to call a time out before his kicker went for the game-winning field goal. (NBC Sports)

Garrett hasn't done himself, team any favors

Jason Garrett may want to delegate some responsibilities now that he's a head coach.

Reason for Icing Own Kicker Worse Than Icing Own Kicker

Jason Garrett has an explanation for his clock management Sunday. And that explanation isn't, "Whoops! Someone put lye in my Gatorade and I spent the final minute of the game writhing in pain in the sideline." That would have been a good explanation. Instead, we get this: We very well could have taken a timeout there. We felt like we were in field goal range...

Cowboys HC Jason Garrett Ices Own Kicker…Dan Bailey Missed GW FG (Video)

Dan Bailey’s job is to make Field Goals, so while you are slandering Jason Garrett remember that regardless of how many time outs Garrett takes Bailey is suppose to make the FG. With that being said Garrett’s time management was awful.  Dare I say it was Andy Reid like? For one, I have no clue why coaches in the last 2 minutes of a game assume a 40+ FG is a gimmie. As...

Jones refuses to second-guess Garrett’s clock-management decisions

IRVING – Jerry Jones says he’s “very sick” that the overtime loss at Arizona cost the Cowboys a golden opportunity to position themselves to clinch the NFC East with a win over the Giants this weekend, but he’s not going to second-guess Jason Garrett’s questionable clock-management decisions.  “I’m not going to second-guess those timeouts at all,” Jones told...

Blame Romo for Timeoutgate?

We've all been dumping on Jason Garrett this week (rightfully so) for icing his own kicker and failing to use crucial timeouts at the end of the Cowboys stunning loss to Arizona on Sunday. But Garrett wasn't alone in committing such a heinous act of clock butchery. Mike Florio over at PFT suggests that Tony Romo deserves a lot of the blame for what went down in those final...
