IRVING, Texas The Dallas Cowboys wanted to improve their offensive line in this year's draft and made that known with their first-round pick, selecting Wisconsin offensive lineman Travis Frederick. Six of the first 11 picks were offensive linemen. Three more o-linemen came off the board before the first round was completed. "I think the whole thing started up in the front of the draft," Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said. "Five of the first ten picks are offensive linemen, which is unprecedented. Two guards go in the top 10, unprecedented. Whenever that happens, when there is a run at a position, the rest of it slides up so it doesn't surprise you what follows after that. "It was just an interesting year. Quarterbacks weren't taken that high, the skilled players that usually go high weren't taken. That's just the nature of the draft. You have to be responsive to that to a certain extent. "We certainly felt that as we were grading our players and putting our board together, that that was not an unlikely scenario but you always want to see it play out." The Cowboys said Frederick was the 22nd player on their draft board. Here are the offensive linemen drafted on Thursday: 1. Eric Fisher, OT, Chiefs. 2. Luke Joeckel, OT, Jaguars. 4. Lane Johnson, OT, Eagles. 7. Jonathan Cooper, G, Cardinals. 10. Chance Warmack, G, Titans. 11. D.J. Fluker, OT, Chargers. 19. Justin Pugh, OT, Giants. 20. Kyle Long, G, Bears. 31. Travis Frederick, C, Cowboys. Follow Jon Machota on Twitter: @jonmachota
