OXNARD, Calif. Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is listed on the roster at 236 pounds to start training camp, six pounds heavier than he was listed in last years media guide.
Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said Sunday that Romo is one pound over his "prescribed playing weight."
Romo said after the first practice of training camp that he is between 227 and 230 pounds.
"I dont want to get into the details of what his playing weight is supposed to be, but hes right around it," Garrett said. "Hell tell you right now, he just has to continue do the conditioning stuff necessary. Coming off an injury, thats always a big concern. Youre trying to get the injury healed, but you got to make sure the condition is right.
"Hes worked very hard at. Hell continue to do that throughout camp."
Romo had a cyst removed from his back in April. While recovering, the Cowboys quarterback was held out of organized team activities and mini-camp.
