Geno Smith is back in business.

Less than a month after firing his agents, the new Jets quarterback has settled on new representation, announcing Wednesday that he will sign with Jay-Z's Roc Nation Sports agency.

Meeting with reporters after practice, Smith explained that it's a "good" and "comfortable" move.

"I think it's just his agency," Smith said, via the New York Daily News. "When you talk about being in New York from a standpoint of what they can do in the city, the connections that they have, I think it's a good move. My mother and my family were comfortable with it. I'm comfortable with it."

Smith, the No. 39 overall pick in last month's draft, has yet to sign a contract with the Jets. Kim Miale will serve as his agent, likely handling the bulk of negotiations.

Roc Nation Sports, which is affiliated with superagent Tom Condon's CAA Sports firm, has begun plucking from the sports stratosphere, landing Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano and, in all likelihood, Giants receiver Victor Cruz.

Smith affirms that his marketability -- or Jay-Z's high-power status -- is “not that important to me honestly.”

“I don’t worry about the outside world’s perception,” Smith said. “I’m comfortable with who I am, strong in my faith. I know that this isn’t because of an image thing or trying to market myself. It’s just being comfortable with the guys who’s going to represent me. That’s ultimately why I made that decision.”
