Though Twitter is usually slow on a Saturday night in the middle of July, the George Zimmerman “not guilty” verdict drew the world to social media. NFL players, in the final two weeks of their summer vacation before training camp starts, seemed to send out the most controversial tweets reacting to the verdict. Victor Cruz and Tyrann Mathieu sent out tweets that they would later delete, while Roddy White apologized for his reaction, but kept his tweet up on his feed.   All them jurors should go home tonight and kill themselves for letting a grown man get away with killing a kid— Roddy White (@roddywhiteTV) July 14, 2013 "@Mathieu_Era: Damn make you wanna scream free Aaron Hernandez.." stay in school kids. Educate yourselves.— Eytan Shander (@Shander_NBC) July 14, 2013 Not all NFL players reacted outrageously to the verdict. Many Patriots players tweeted out their disappointment without going to the extreme. UNBELIEVABLE!!!! THAT'S BREATHTAKING!!!!— LeGarrette Blount (@L_Blount27) July 14, 2013 THAT VERDICT LITERALLY BROKE MY HEART! I FEEL HORRIBLE FOR THE MARTIN FAMILY! HIS FAMILY DID NOT GET THE CLOSURE THEY DESERVE! #DISGUSTED— LeGarrette Blount (@L_Blount27) July 14, 2013 Im shocked— Shane Vereen (@ShaneVereen34) July 14, 2013 this makes no sense...— Shane Vereen (@ShaneVereen34) July 14, 2013 #RipTrayvonMartin— Aaron Dobson 3 (@aarondobson17) July 14, 2013 Mike Vick goes to jail for dogs? Just Wow— Stephon Morris (@_Lova12) July 14, 2013 So u get time for killing dogs and shooting urself and go free for killing a young boy.— Donald (@Dajones19) July 14, 2013 RIP Trayvon Martin!!!! My prayers are with the Martin family.— Kenbrell Thompkins (@KTdaWinner) July 14, 2013 Sad day but can't say I'm surprised...praying no more ppl are killed with riots or any other non sense (D-Mac)— Jason+Devin McCourty (@McCourtyTwins) July 14, 2013
