Georgia TE Brock Bowers updates NFL Draft world on hamstring injury

Georgia tight end Brock Bowers could very well end up being the best overall athlete in the 2024 NFL Draft and projects as a game changer wherever he ends up.

The problem is, tight end is a tough position to take high in the draft value-wise and Bowers does have some recent injury concerns that may have some teams questioning whether he is worth a top-15 to top-20 pick.

Talent-wise, he certainly is, but he suffered a high-ankle sprain in 2023 and missed three games overall for UGA this past season. Bowers is currently nursing a hamstring injury that kept him out of the 2024 NFL Combine as well as Georgia's recent pro day.

The talented tight end doesn't seem concerned, though. In fact, he recently told the media that his newest injury is small potatoes.

“Tweaked a hamstring a little bit, but it’s no big deal. Just wanted to give it a little extra time, just give it some time and just be able to be at my best when I’m out here performing,” Bowers said, per On3.

Though he missed the combine and the UGA pro day, Bowers did reveal that he's setting up a private workout for NFL teams soon – in about a month.

“Speed’s a huge part of this process. Running fast, I want to run fast. That’s part of it," Bowers said, explaining why he's taking it slow with the hamstring.

The NFL Draft starts on April 25, so he still does have time to show off what he can do in shorts and a t-shirt.
