There's no denying the impressive physique and workout numbers that have been posted by Ohio State defensive end/linebacker Vernon Gholston. But some league insiders are concerned that Gholston might be this year's Mike Mamula. Mamula, you might remember, was a defensive end who rocketed up the draft board based on incredible pre-draft numbers. But Mamula was a bust as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles, and he has long since been out of the league. • brotha damn that sucks huh, puttin that mamula on someone
  • who knows....i wanna at least see him play..i dont know
  • Well the big difference is that Mamula was probably one of the few players that actually prepared for the combine like a crazy person. I don't think it was viewed in the same light as it is nowadays. So players really didn't prepare for the combine as hard. It paid off for Mamula in the end (where he was drafted) and he wasn't exactly a BUST. He was a decent player with sky high expectations.
  • that name hurts my brain
