As of today October 11th, 2013, the New York Giants have the worst record in the NFL at 0-6 as a result of their 27-21 loss to the Chicago Bears on Thursday Night Football. The national audience saw the Giants allow 25+ points and have 3 turnovers for the sixth straight game. The sports world views the Giants as a laughing stock and Eli Manning threw three interceptions, including two in his five pass attempts (the second one was returned for a touchdown by Tim Jennings), and the final one clinched the game when Manning overthrew 6'3" tight end Brandon Myers was intercepted by Jennings for the second time to end the game. The sports world believes that the Giants are finished, Tom Couglin should be fired, and Manning should be traded or released. I agree the Giants are finished and is time for a change both in roster and coaching, let's not forget what they have accomplished in the Manning/Couglin era.Since Manning and Coughlin have come to New York in 2004, the Giants have clinched five playoff berths, three NFC East Division titles, and most importantly, two Super Bowl Championships, including in 2007 when they beat the 18-0 New England Patriots who everyone (including myself I will admit) assumed who roll over the Giants to a undefeated season.Manning may be inconsistent, but he has proven he is a clutch quarterback who can win games late more times than notin his 10 seasons in the league. In my opionion, any quarterback who wins two or more Super Bowls is a Pro Football Hall of Famer.Coughlin may not be a player's coach and will never be confused with Mr. personality, however his players give 100 percent effort all 60 minutes of game time and would never consider "tuning" him out unlike other coaches who players become tired of hearing them.Coughlin, in my view is a Hall of Famer as a coach for not only the two Super Bowl championships, but also his work the then expansion Jacksonville Jaguars, who are still trying to find a identity since he was fired as coach ten years ago.In their own way, Manning and Couglin have built a legacy in their time in New York. It might be inconsistent, but a lot of other teams would have switched leagacies with them in a heartbeat over the last ten years.Even if they never win another game together, Manning and Couglin are legends, and that fact should not be forgotten in their lost 2013 season.
