Fans can tend to get out of control.  There isn’t an NFL game where a few fans get out-of-hand and get kicked out.  If you have ever been to a game, you have probably seen someone near you get led out by security in yellow shirts or jackets, while the rest of the fans sitting around chant a name of a specific body part while pointing at the that perp.  Usually the individual kicked out has annoyed others around them with their language, or their refusal to leave someone else sitting around them alone.  Sometimes, it gets violent and just completely out-of-hand.

The San Francisco 49ers are taking precautions in order to avoid the latter from happening at tomorrow’s NFC Championship Game against the New York Giants.  Usually, security is late to the scene when things get bad between fans of the home team and any of the visiting team.  The drastic measures that the 9ers are taking to keep things as civil as possible when football and booze is involved, is having police go undercover as Giants fans.

Last week, 9ers fans became quite unruly after the emotional win over the New Orleans Saints, and the organization wants to avoid any possible issues that could come up in such an important final home game.  Season-ticket holders have been warned to follow the NFL Code of Conduct.  What is that? ”no foul or abusive language or obscene gestures and no verbal or physical abuse of opposing team fans”.  Yeah, that NEVER happens at games.

Obviously, there is a lot of leeway with fan behavior at games, but trying to keep things from going over-the-line can be a tough task, and the 9ers and the NFL feel that this may be the safest way from that happening.
