The New York Giants assistant coaching staff could undergo an additional tweak ahead of next month's off-season conditioning program on April 15.

Matt Zenitz, national college football reporter for 247sports and CBS Sports, reports that James Madison University is interested in Giants assistant offensive line coach Chris Smith for its offensive line coach opening.

Smith has a working history with new JMU head coach Bob Chesney, the two having worked together at Holy Cross for several seasons. Smith's roles at Holy Cross included offensive coordinator, to which he was promoted in March 2022, offensive line coach, run game coordinator, and recruiting coordinator.

Smith and the rest of Chesney's Holy Cross staff were part of four straight Patriot League championships and NCAA football championship subdivision berths.
