According to Ebenezer Samuel of the New York Daily News, the New York Giants have re-signed veteran linebacker Chase Blackburn to a one-year deal. This past season, Blackburn wasn’t signed by the Giants until midway through the season and played in his first game of the season against the Green Bay Packers. He made an immediate impact right away by intercepting an Aaron Rodgers pass and helping the Giants get within a score of defeating the Packers, who were unbeaten at the time. Blackburn also made a crucial interception during Super Bowl XLVI against the Patriots when Tom Brady launched a deep pass intended for Rob Gronkowski, but Blackburn jumped up and made a great play. I don’t believe Blackburn will automatically make the 2012 Giants roster, but he’ll certainly have a shot after a strong 2011 season and because of his knowledge of the defense.

Mara: NFL closer to eliminating kickoffs

The NFL has already moved kickoffs closer, resulting in more touchbacks. The day could come when kickoffs are removed entirely.

John Mara doesn’t rule out the NFL eliminating kickoffs

New York Giants owner John Mara spoke with Michael Eisen of Giants.com about rule changes and serving on the NFL Competition Committee.  One of the things that struck me the most, was that he indicated that he could see the kickoff being eliminated all together. “We had a lot of discussions about whether we should eliminate it and if we did what we could do in its place,” he...

NY Giants re-signed LB Chase Blackburn to a one year deal

Finally! Big Blue came to their senses on bringing Chase Blackburn back on the team adding depth to their linebacker position. He was remembered for catching an INT going one-on-one with Rob Gronkowski which was a huge play in the super bowl. Jerry Reese is adding players on the team and we see competition in traning camp which is about time for the Giants. They have depth in...

Eli Manning to host Saturday Night Live

According to the official Twitter account of NBC’s Saturday Night Live, New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning will be the host on May 5th, with Rihanna as the musical guest. The interesting thing about Eli, is that he doesn’t look like he has much of a personality, but if you ask any of his teammates, they would tell you he’s one of the biggest jokesters/pranksters on the...

Cincinnati Bengals trade Keith Rivers to the New York Giants

Trade for Cincinnati: Rivers is an above average linebacker when healthy, but the Bengals have a good depth of linebackers already (Maualuga, Manny Lawson, Thomas Howard, and 2011 3rd rounder Dontay Moch) and they had one of the best defenses in the league last season without Rivers playing a snap. Rivers is an injury risk going forward and would likely not be resigned as a free...

Live From New York! It’s Herp A Derp Derp!

If you had a chance to catch Saturday Night Live this weekend, then I’m sure you noticed the Jay Z parody sketch that would have been funny 3 years ago same cutting edge humor that New York’s finest always deliver. Tucked away in the first hour of this week’s show was the host card for the next episode on May 5, and the honor of awkwardly attempting to deliver Gilly sketch...
